The Velorialist is the official blog of OSLOH, our beloved commuter, transportation bicycling garment company. This blog will be an extension of all of the random, eclectic and wonderful ideas that help to define what OSLOH and the people and personalities that contribute to it embody. Of course with OSLOH being a garment company, clothing, style and aesthetics will be central to our discussions, but that will be only a portion of what we present. We will definitely approach a very broad range of subject matter, and sincerely invite you to weigh in with your comments. We look forward to discovering where this wild journey will lead and we are thrilled that you have chosen to accompany us. Thus without further adieu, In the grand tradition of Scott Schuman's "The Sartorialist" (we are HUGE fans of his), I present you - The Velorialist, powered by OSLOH...enjoy the ride.

The Velorialist returns with NYC 5 Boro Bike Tour
To quote the MC Legend Rakim, "Its been a long time..." We return to the Blogging universe after devoting ourselves to get OSLOH up and running. Now OSLOH is up and jogging, if not running toward business viability. So we have a few minutes to wax poetic on the world of bicycling or anything else that strikes our fancy.
Lets begin with a Huge salute to all the Organizers and Participants of the 5 Boro Bike Tour. This is a wonderful one-of-a-kind event that EVERY New Yorker should do at least once in their lives, because it affords you the opportunity to access roadways on a bike that are impossible otherwise, like the BQE, the FDR and the Verizano Bridge.

Interbike 2008. We saw some great product, and met some even better people. Here is just a small taste.
Our first stop was the MOMENTUM MAGAZINE booth. Where we met "The impresario" - Publisher Amy Walker and her right hand, Associate Publisher Tania Lo. These ladies and the job they do with MOMENTUM MAGAZINE is amazing. I urge everyone who rides, to log onto their site,
www.momentumplanet.com
and subscribe to the magazine.
This copper plated fixie attracted a crowd wherever it rolled. Ed's bikes AKA La Suprema is the wonderful artisan responsible for this striking creation. www.edsbikes.us

These old school "High Wheelers" were a beauty to behold.

Jeff Scully, Ortlieb's president is a real pleasure to work with.

Pashley Cycles are a classicist's dream. These bikes are truly timeless machines that can be passed from generation to generation. Lindsey Kohrt is the lovely former New Yorker, who runs Belmont Distribution, The authorized US distributor for the Pashleys.

The Civia bikes are classy machines, due in part to the wood and metal racks that are a clear tribute to Joseph Ahearne's custom works of art www.ahearnecycles.com . In addition to great bikes, Civia also introduced GREENLIGHT. It is an amazing online biking forum for commuters. It can be found at www.civiacycles.com
